R&B Singer Tory Lanez Lawyer Files Motion To Drop Him As A Client, Claims He Can No Longer Represent Singer

Tory Lanez has found himself in yet another scandal, and this time it might be harder for supporters to excuse his participation in it than before. Futhermore, his legal team seems fed up with the “Say It” hitmaker as well, alluding to there being some truth behind allegations of him being a hothead and always getting into issues that they have to bail him out of. Let’s take a look at the last few times he was in the headlines and why he might need to find a new defense team for any future fights.
Tory Lanez found success in 2016 with the Brownstone samples “Say It.” He quickly became a go-to in the modern hip-hop era for quick album turnarounds and fast collaborations scoring him multiple hits with millions of streams across digital stream platforms. Unfortunately, Lanez would land himself in trouble in July 2020 after a pool party with Megan Thee Stallion resulted in an argument on the ride home and someone firing a gun. Details of what exactly happened in the vehicle have been conflicting, but an overwhelming amount of people have come around to supporting Lanez over the years and believing his innocence.
In his latest scandal, it appears Tory Lanez attacked R&B singer August Alsina after a miscommunication backstage at a show in Chicago. August says that he has been recovering from paralysis and was on a doctor’s order not to interact with too many people. Tory had spoken ill about August’s relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith in the past, and Alsina opted to avoid the rapper when they crossed paths. Tory did not like this and attacked August, leaving him bloodied. August took to social media to post a picture of the aftermath.
This is not the first time Tory is accused of running up on someone and hitting them. He had a similar issue last summer with Love & Hip-Hop Miami star Prince Michael Harty. Prince claims that Tory ran up to him in a nightclub and punched him in the face before fleeing the scene. The men have a history of issues, and Prince is currently suing Tory for a similar attack at LIV in 2019. It is unclear if Prince pressed charges for the second fight as well.
Tory is still on parole in Los Angeles from the incident with Megan Thee Stallion. As a result, the court is taking the latest attack against Alsina into consideration. “We are aware of the allegations that the defendant attacked artist August Alsina and are investigating these claims. The allegations are serious and will be thoroughly examined,” the DA’s Office says in a statement released to the public.

With all of this going on, Lanez is down one lawyer after Christopher E. Ells filed a motion to be removed from his legal team. It is unclear why Ells stepped away, but likely to do with Lanez’s continued issues piling up against him in a way that makes it hard for him to be innocent of all these allegations. Ells claims he is “unable to effectively represent” Lanez, citing “irreconcilable differences which cannot be resolved.”
